Save money with automatic driving lessons

Pass your test in less time by taking driving lessons in an automatic car. Learning to how drive an automatic is easier and will take less time – saving you money.

Perhaps you want to pass your test more quickly, but would rather not take an intensive course? Or maybe you’ve already had tuition in a manual car and have decided to ditch the gears and the clutch for an easier drive?

Automatic cars are perfect if you expect to do a lot of city driving where you’ll be stopping and starting frequently. They may also suit drivers who have a disability that makes changing gear difficult.

How-2-Drive have been helping people pass their driving tests in manual cars since 2009. We’re proud to now be able to offer automatic driving lessons in Norwich and the surrounding suburbs too.

Pass your test sooner in an automatic car

Learning to drive an automatic car is ideal if you are nervous about driving or simply want to get your driving licence sooner without the fuss of changing through all those gears! Just think — no tricky hill starts, struggling to find the biting point, or wondering “what gear do I need for this busy roundabout?”

Despite all these benefits, think carefully before deciding to take automatic driving lessons. Once you pass your automatic driving test you will have a licence which only allows you to drive automatic cars and vans. This may limit your choices later on in life when buying or renting cars.

If you still haven’t decided, you might want to consider taking driving lessons in a manual car.

So....I had a chance to sort my driving out when I lived in London but never got round to doing it. I had around 10... lessons but honestly felt like I didn't learn anything meaningful nor was the instructor very friendly or professional. Fast forward and I'm now 22, I looked around and found How2Drive so I thought I would give it a go. Started off with the 2 hour trial and met my instructor Karlton. The guy is honestly one of the most down to earth guys you can find, he instils confidence in everything you do, to make you safe and has one hell of a sense of humour. I never felt uncomfortable or embarrassed making a mistake, as I knew I would have constructive feedback given to me to ensure I tackled it better next time. I owe him a whiteboard 🤣🤣 but he always drew the maneuvers out for me so that I could properly understand how to go about it. I think what says it all really is that due to COVID-19 my test was cancelled back in March and only now have I taken it. Despite all that , what he taught me has remained all throughout the period with only very little time in the car, only to translate into a first time pass. Thanks my G ❤read more

For years, I have been absolutely terrified to get behind the wheel and try to learn to drive. Even being a passenger... causes me anxiety! I explained this to Abs when booking my first lesson and he was really understanding and supportive. First lesson, I had a panic attack before leaving the house, Abs really put my mind at ease and made me feel safe and comfortable. The lesson went really well, and I managed a few drives around the industrial estate and even went up and down three gears! Never thought I would achieve this! Now really looking forward to my next class and know that Abs will make sure I am safe and well throughout. I would certainly recommend him as an instructor :-)read more
