Just like our driving instructor training, our standards check course is tailored to suit your individual training and development needs. We know that no two pupils are alike — and neither are their instructors!
We can help you put together a training plan that covers any or all the following areas:
- Client and subject selection
- Route planning
- Adapting the lesson plan and level of instruction to suit your pupils’ needs
- How to manage and share risk
- Encouraging your pupil to think and solve problems independently
- How to use training techniques such as scaling and job share
- Encouraging your pupil to reflect on their own performance
Client-centred learning
As part of your course, you will be encouraged to adopt the client-centred learning (CCL) approach. This will teach you how to encourage your pupils to think about their own performance and come up with their own practical solutions to the problems they face.
Having spent the last year (alongside work commitments) training to be an ADI with Howard of How-2-Drive, I can honestly say that it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Our ADI standards check training is delivered in blocks of two-hour sessions in the Norwich area.
You won’t have to commit to a lengthy course if you don’t need to. If you only need one session to get up to speed, then that’s all you’ll have to pay for.
