Covid-19 driving lesson update

We are aiming to resume driving lessons soon

As it stands we plan to resume driving tuition in early July. This depends upon the Government confirming when lockdown measures will be eased further.

Driving lessons fall into the higher risk business category. This is because it is impossible to observe social distancing rules in a tuition vehicle. Re-opening higher-risk businesses falls under phase three of the Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy. They have said that phase three will happen no earlier than the 4th July.

The Approved Driving Instructors National Joint Council agree that this is likely to be the date driving schools reopen. But, we can’t be completely sure of this until the Government confirms when phase three will begin.

We are also still waiting for the DVSA to confirm further details. We’ll update this page as soon as we hear anything.

Instructor training on Covid-19

Our instructors are undergoing special training to prevent the spread of Covid-19, many have already passed their online training course. We are working on our risk assessment and taking measures to keep you safe. Our cars are clean and we’ll sanitise all surfaces between lessons.

Join our pupil priority list

We understand you might feel disappointed about not being able to take lessons right now. But now is a great time to plan for the future. Contact us now to join our priority list. We’ll do our best to make sure you are one of the first to get back behind the wheel when measures are lifted.

Driving lessons paused are still paused – for now

Back in March 2020, in response to the coronavirus pandemic we had to pause all driving lessons. The safety and wellbeing of our pupils and instructors has always been our top priority.

Until we re-open, the only exception we can make is for key workers. If you are a key worker then we are currently able to offer you driving lessons and practical or theory tests. Use this article to check to see whether you belong to a key worker group.

Practical and theory tests are still suspended by DVSA

The DVSA has also suspended both theory and practical driving tests for up to 3 months for most people. They will continue to publish up-to-date information on tests on the Gov.uk website. If you are a key worker, you can also apply for an emergency test on the same page.

Our driving lesson gift vouchers are still available

If you need a fantastic gift idea for a loved one, our gift vouchers are still available to buy. Driving lesson vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of sale.

Stay safe in these uncertain times

We very much look forward to getting behind the wheel again with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, in these difficult times we want to wish all our pupils and colleagues the very best.
